If going to Maryland is on your agenda, you will definitely want to consider going to outdoor activities. Instead of hanging out in the cities like Baltimore, you should do something that involves hiking or walking instead. There are quite a few parks all throughout the state, and there are also beautiful waterfalls that you will absolutely enjoy. Here are a few of the parks that you should visit and waterfall that everybody talks about when they get back from their trip to Maryland.
What Time Of Year Should You Visit?
Traveling into Maryland should be done during the summer months if possible. This is when most of the activities are in full force. You will be able to do many things in the city, and outside of the city, including these activities that will take you down by the ocean, and also into state parks where you can see beautiful waterfalls.
Northside Park In Ocean City
This is located in Ocean City. It’s nice enough that in this beautiful region of Maryland, but the Northside Park makes it even better. It’s very close to Fenwick Island, and also the state park that is there, allowing you to see quite a few things. You can head up into Bethany Beach if you want to, or just head back down to Ocean City going past the Jolly Roger amusement park. After you have done that, you will then want to head over to the waterfall that everyone loves which is called Money Creek Falls.
Muddy Creek Falls In Oakland
This is actually in the Swallow Falls state park. If you like waterfalls, you will definitely like this one. It is part of the Youghiogheny River which is about 9 miles away from Oakland. This should not be confused with the city of the same name in California. Once you have gone there, you will definitely remember these falls. It’s one of the beautiful areas of the park. You can take pictures there, or simply have a picnic that you can enjoy during the spring and summer months.
Baltimore might be your next stop, or perhaps you head over to Frederick. Silver Spring is another nice place to go. However, if you want to stick with doing things that are outdoors, just go to these parks and waterfalls, and you will have a fantastic time participating outside in Maryland the next time that you go.
